If you are looking for a hairdressing or barbering course giving you the skills you need to start your career, our courses include a unique blend of practical training, demonstrations and theory classes which deliver results.

Our Beginners Barbering courses run from only 5 weeks for a basic introduction to haircutting, up to 12 weeks for the nationally recognised Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering. For those Hairdressers & Barbers already qualified, our Intermediate & Advanced courses run from 1 day to 30 days, including a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Barbering. These courses can be taken in either our City of London or Ipswich Academies.

We encourage models of all ages and backgrounds into our bespoke Academies to ensure you learn in a realistic working environment, matching that of your chosen career. Whether you are learning Hairdressing or Barbering on one of our unique courses, you will learn at your own pace and with regular one-to-one feedback, your confidence will grow quickly.

Foundation Barbering Course in Cutting & Styling

This barber course is aimed at those wishing to have a basic understanding of Barbering.

Level 3 Certificate in Barbering

This barbers course is aimed at those looking for a part-time entry into the world of Barbering and is available in both London and Ipswich.

This VTCT Level 3 Certificate Barbering Course has all the practical Barbering training you need to become work-ready. It can be part-time, a minimum of 3 consecutive days per week, leaving you free to work the rest of the week!

With a recognised qualification, this VTCT Level 3 Certificate Barbering Course has all the practical work you need to be a work-ready Barber. After an initial induction, on day 2 you will learn to cut & style utilising the 5 Alan d foundation haircuts before moving on to the practical elements of our barbering training, incorporating all the latest techniques using scissors, scissor-over-comb, clipper work, beard & moustache trimming, client care, shampooing, blow-drying & barber-shop protocol. You may choose to add wet-shaving as an extra cost option. You will be trained on both dummy heads & live models.

VTCT & Alan d certification is awarded on completion of the course.

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering – inc. Wet Shaving

Course length: 12 weeks (60 days)

Available in both London and Ipswich, this barber course is aimed at those looking to be work-ready and have an internationally recognised Barbering qualification.

After an initial induction, on day 2 you will learn to cut & style utilising the 5 Alan d foundation haircuts before moving on to the practical elements of our barber training, incorporating all the latest techniques using scissors, scissor-over-comb, clipper work, beard & moustache trimming & wet-shaving.

Client care, shampooing, blow-drying & barber-shop protocol all form part of the course leading to completion of your NVQ Level 2. You will be taught on both dummy heads & live models.

NVQ courses include VTCT on-line testing to complete the qualification.

Alan d & VTCT certification is awarded on completion of the course.

This is a bespoke barbering course created by you!

This barbers course is aimed at those who’ve left college with a qualification but aren’t confident or skilful enough to work on the salon floor, or those needing to brush up on a specific skill.

Open to all ages, #OntheFloor is a Barbering training boot-camp. No theory, no exams, up to 10 days of practical training in blocks of 1, 3, 5 or 10 days, concentrating on all elements of Barbering. This barbering training boot-camp will increase your skill levels & boost your confidence.

Wet Shaving

Course Price: £595

This barbers course is aimed at those wanting to learn the classic wet-shaving skill.

The 2-day barbers course is split into 6 sessions including shaving theory, skin tensioning & lathering techniques prior to working on live models.

Alan d certification is awarded on completion of the course.

The Refresher/Confidence Builder

This is the Alan d signature barbering course.

This barber course is for Barbers returning to the industry who would like to polish up their skills, or experienced Barbers who feel “bogged down” with their everyday routine & are looking for inspiration.

This confidence building course is also designed for young Barbers who have just completed initial training & wish to improve their confidence levels as well as basic techniques.

Courses begin weekly throughout the year.

Alan d certification is awarded on completion of the course.
